Sparks Program
Since 2006, the Tauck Foundation has partnered with a range of independent youth agencies to develop a unique, summer travel program for low-income, middle school students. Together, we have created Sparks -- a structured, educational, and highly experiential program for young people designed to be implemented by a diverse range of youth organizations as either an after-school and/or summer camp program.

Sparks is designed to help middle school students to:
  • Gain an interest in travel, an appreciation for new experiences, and a love of learning
  • Develop a greater understanding and appreciation for diversity and difference
  • Increase their self-awareness, confidence, and sense of independence
  • Learn both individual and group responsibility and how to work collaboratively with others

Studio LD
LD Studio is a program which gives young kids the opportunity to express themselves through music and Hip-Hop culture. We focus on the main key elements in Hip-Hop today. As far as song writing, performing, engineering, and producing. The kids learn how to write their own songs and execute them on to a digital recording mixer, while working together as a team to help each other to get better. Click on the bar below to listen to one youth's instrumental produce on the keyboard.

Krunch Time
Krunch Time is the part of the program where youths spend an hour focusing on academic achievement. Youths take this time to do homework, do personal reading using the KidzLit model, and work one-on-one with teachers to solve conflicts with certain work.

Blazers
Blazers is our program that represents all the athletic sports we do year round. During fall season we have football, cheerleading, and cross country, winter season youths have the choice of boys and girls basketball and wrestling, and in the spring youths can participate in baseball, softball, and street hockey.
Confident Chefs
In Confident Chefs we will learn about healthy foods, and different diverse foods. In class the students will learn how to use the right utensils, oils, pots, and the right amount of ingredients. Each student will bring in a recipe that we will do in our class. They will be given the opportunity to cook for the entire class. Youths are quizzed to show if they understand the techniques & what they are learning.

Students in Confident Chefs will be reading about different chefs and how they started their career. They will have the opportunity to research chefs, recipes and different types of food from other countries and tell the class about it. Students will write 1-2 paragraphs on why they like cooking and what they enjoy about cooking.

Each student will take part in setting up, preparing food, setting of table and cleaning up.

PAW Club
PAW Club is a group of youths that work together to lend a helping hand or PAW in their community by doing volunteer service and community service projects.

Fitness First is an after-school club which focuses on improving overall fitness and takes place three days a week from 3:30pm through 5:30pm. We are equipped with fully-donated high-tech fitness center and cardio room, but we also like to get outdoors whenever possible. Our outdoor experiences range from walking trips to local attractions and parks to hiking trails and trips to the beach. We tell our students that only you can control how physical fit you become, and if you put in the effort, we’ll help you get the best results possible! We strongly believe that a physically-educated person:

HAS learned the skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities,
WORKS constantly towards becoming healthier,
DOES participate regularly in physical activity,
KNOWS the implications and benefits of involvement in physical activities,
VALUES physical activity and its contributions to a healthy lifestyle.
