Domus - Holiday Giving 2010

No child shall be denied hope, love, or a fair chance in life.

Thank you for helping to fulfill a holiday wish for our kids.

HOLIDAYS 2010

Last year, Domus supporters donated over $100,000 worth of food, toys, and presents for local youth and their families and transformed the holiday season for almost a thousand people:

Over 500 meals for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays

Gifts for 600 kids at the Domus Shopping Mall, where parents

selected 3 gifts per child

70 complete Christmas celebrations for our neediest families

and the 25 youth who live in our residential programs,

including wants and needs plus a complete meal

This year, many of our families are still not working, despite looking hard for jobs—they’re worse off, and we get calls every day from others who need our help. We hope you can help us add joy and remove stress this holiday season—can we count on you?

Help our kids’ dreams come true by participating in our holiday gift drive!

Check out their wish list with details on dropping off gifts, or you can donate funds to buy holiday gifts here! Please note your gift is to purchase holiday presents. Have access to an office or neighborhood full of nice people? Organize a giving tree with colleagues, congregations, your book club, or school—we need gifts small and large so every child in need has a gift to open in December.

HOLIDAY FOOD FOR A PROPER CELEBRATION

You hate knowing there are so many families in our area who celebrate Christmas but don’t have the means to share a hot, nutritious meal with their loved ones. We do too. Together, we can help change that. We’ve worked out a special deal with the Cingari family at ShopRite; with their help, we’ll be able to provide a plentiful basket for a large family for only $50. Donate here to make sure fast-food burgers and fries aren’t the only option for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.

ANGEL FAMILY PROGRAM

Want to transform an entire family for holidays (and maybe longer)? Adopt an Angel Family: one of a couple dozen families we’ve identified as being most in need of assistance this year. You work with a Domus staff member to find a family you’d like to adopt—we’ll walk you through the process. Email Julie for more details
