Cooking with Keeya
Every Friday the kitchen is alive with the scents and sounds of cooking!  Beginning with the 4th and 5th grade group, each grade will have a chance to participate in a six week cooking session with Keeya.  Not only do they do the hands on cooking, but they also learn about nutrition and the food pyramid as well as do projects creating their own recipes.  Their cooking creations have included things like fajita pizzas, fruit smoothies, and a delicious banana dessert.
Rahiem’s Reptile Class
Once a month, Rahiem brings in one of the reptiles from his science class at Westhill High School.  The students go in small groups to see, touch and learn about the reptiles.  The students love it, although some of them are not brave enough to hold the animals.  A very special thanks to Rahiem’s teacher, Ms. Debra Ritchie, who brings in the reptiles, and makes sure they are handled correctly.
